Synopsis
Dani refuses to lose another parent due to her absence from their life. My Review of Save Me from Me by Erika Ashby
Holden. Country boy. Enough said. *Insert total swoon here* We met Holden briefly in Erika Ashby’s Timing is Everything Series. He was Jake’s cousin who was secretly in love with Jesika, but was sent away because Jake ‘staked his claim.’
Now, we’ve moved forward and this is the story of Dani and Holden. This is a stand alone book with a happily ever after. There is a (very) little bit of crossover when Jesika visits Holden, but you won’t be lost because this story is completely independent of the TIE series.
When Holden returned from the Navy, he found that Jesika had already found a love beyond Jake and he didn’t want to interfere so he moved on with his life. That involved not letting anyone get close, which actually means having lots one-night stands. That is until he meets Dani in a little town where he is currently working for his father. Dani has recently moved back home after the death of her father.
Dani is a headstrong, fiercely loyal, twenty-something who returned home to take care of her mom after her Dad died. That also means being involved in the lives of her siblings and nephews. Welcome to Small Town, USA. Kind of like the bar where everyone knows your name. It’s been 10 years since Dani set foot in her hometown because she was busy making a life for herself. Or possibly, running from her life. (You’ll have to read it!) So in this small town, where everyone knows everyone, Dani is pushed towards her ex. Let me introduce Gage. He’s the hot, sexy, country boy running his Dad’s business and he is still pining over Dani.
Me – I’m not really a fan of Gage because I’m not sure I can get over what he’s done with his life. But, I have it on good authority (thanks, Erika Ashby) that Gage will be getting his own book. Although, I don’t know when she’ll be working on writing his story. He is totally hot and I can see some redeeming qualities, but I just hope he can become a better person or maybe find the good guy he once was. Sorry, not telling you any more about Gage!
Okay, back to my man Holden. Holy crap, I LOVE him! Think good guy, turned bad boy, turned reformed bad-boy – all while being wrapped up in a country boy. Got it? Yum! Wait until you read the scene where he meets Dani for the first time. OMG! It’s is such a delicious scene.
Erika Ashby does it again! She has weaved a sweet romance with family, love, and steamy sex. Don’t miss out on the country boys and headstrong girl in Save Me from Me, a story of finding out where you actually belong. Oh, and it has a very happy, happily ever after. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stars
