HER by Carey Heywood is the cronological story of a forever love, from friendship to lovers. Will Price is in the 7th grade when he meets Sarah Miller. They quickly become best friends after being thrown together on a project. We, as readers, follow through their school years from middle school to high school. They remain best friends throughout, each wanting more but unwilling to take the chance.

Until he finally takes a shot and they start dating. That’s all going well, but something happens that changes the course of events. Since this is only Will’s Point of view, we don’t actually find out what causes the issue until years later. Yes, I said years!

Through the course of life, it makes you wonder even if you make one mistake, is your fate still the same? Or will your fate change based on your decisions? Well, we find out 7 years later when Will and Sarah are reunited and have to survive a week together in Atlanta, with their families.

I really like Will’s character, he is an honest guy, sexy, loving, and doesn’t give up. It’s interesting to see how he changes through the course of the years and how his character grows, but never lets go of his first true love. I love the storyline of best friends falling in love.

I wish there was more of present day, but it was nice to get the full story and background. You’ll be happy to know that this a complete novel with a happily ever after.
