My Review
I’ve read every Max Monroe book that I could get my hands on and I have to warn you that Alex in Wonderland is a departure from their usual writing style. It’s darker and seedier, but still has a bit of that Max Monroe flair. Believable characters who are both strong and fierce, but with a soft edge. An interesting storyline, by far and it’s easy to find yourself lost to the words. I read this while I was on vacation last week, and I have to attest that it makes the perfect Summertime beach read.
Think Rachel Van Dyken’s Eagle Elite Series meets romantic comedy. Still charming and sweet, but weaved throughout are moments of dark and bitter. It’s easy to see why Matt is what he is and why Alex so easily falls down the rabbit hole. An interesting twist on a well-loved fairy tale, Alex in Wonderland by Max Monroe ranks high on my must-read beach list. It’s a sexy story of strength, longing, and love.
Swoon worthy moments mixed with throw the kindle against the wall moments make this departure from romcom a winner for the writing duo.
