The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken Review

My Review of The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken

I haven’t laughed this hard while reading a book in a while. The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken is an experience – a heartwarming, sometimes hilarious, experience.

The characters are hard not to fall in love with.  From Kacey to Travis and especially Grandma Nadine, the entire cast of characters are easy to laugh with, laugh at, and love. The banter between the characters kept me laughing through most of the story. There were times my husband walked into the room to make sure I was alright because I was laughing so hard. 😉 Just watch out for the eggs.

Rachel Van Dyken has a way of weaving the story so that you feel as if you’ve known the characters your entire life and that you are right there with them. Kacey has been through so much and she has lost so much that it is understandable why she doesn’t automatically hop on board with Jake’s idea. Although, after reading more about Grandma, I definitely understand why she ended up agreeing to take part in the weekend with Jake.

This is going in my beach read pile and also goes in the sweet romance with lots of laughs category. Most definitely a fun read with lots of swooning over one very sexy Titus brother. Honestly, they are both sexy but only one is worth swooning over unless you want a broken heart.

I’ve actually read this book twice because I enjoyed it so much the first time, plus the second book in The Bet Series (The Wager) was just released. My review for that is actually coming up soon, but I’ll tell you now that I love that book too.
