Book Bash 2014

If you were following along last weekend, you would have seen that Dessi and I made the rounds at Book Bash 2014. It was held in Orlando and was crazy-busy. Who did we meet? Take a look at some of our favorite picks.

Whew! Such a busy day and Dessi and I actually got to see it from different points of view. I worked as Dawn Robertson’s assistant and Dessi came as a fan. Of course that means I didn’t have to wait in lines, unless it was to get Dawn a $12 Cheeseburger. 😉

After setting up Dawn’s table she set me free to go meet some of my faves. Of course, the first ones I stopped to see were my top three – Harper Sloan, Alessandra Torre, and K. Bromberg. Alessandra was the sweetest of all the authors I met that day. She actually signed three books for me. Two for me to keep and one to share with our readers. Plus, she signed our tote bag that we’ll be giving away shortly.

I don’t remember where I found the list of what to do before you go to a signing. It may have been a list written by K. Bromberg, but it included a few tips that you definitely want to use when you head to a signing. My favorite tip was to write your name on a post it and put it in the book so that the author doesn’t have to ask you want name you want to have written in the book. The author’s actually thanked me for doing that and it was so easy to do. The other thing that is important is to make sure you have a portable charger for your phone. I have a portable charger from my media trips to California, so I didn’t need to buy one but it really saved my life because taking so many pictures and updating social media took a toll on my battery life.

We’re already making plans to head to Tampa for Indie Mash Up in September. I think we’ll both be going as fans and won’t be working this time. 😉
