My review of Burned by Tara Sivec
It has been a while since a book has affected me to this extent. Holy Crap. Burned by Tara Sivec has me shaking because I became that emotionally involved with the characters in this book. I laughed, I cried, I may have locked myself in a room so I wouldn’t be disturbed (though I will not confirm that).
I purchased this book last weekend when Ms. Sivec posted that 25% of all sales of Burned during that weekend were to be donated to the National Fallen Fire Fighter Foundation. That’s all I needed to hear. My dad is a fallen firefighter, who died in the line of duty twenty years ago. I knew that this book might be difficult for me to read because as much as I love a hot fireman, I still have that loss associated with the fire service.
Burned actually hadn’t been on my radar until a friend posted on her fan page (Thank you Danielle). I one-clicked that sucker and had the chance to start reading this morning. I will say this. This is a book that you will want to keep reading, just to see what is going to happen. There is this element of suspense woven throughout the story.
The love story in Burned is the perfect second chance romance. Finnley and Collin dated seventeen years ago, while they were in high school – before he broke up with her. Finnley moved on, got married, but never forgot about Collin. Collin became a very sexy firefighter. 😉 We follow their reunion after a seventeen year separation and it’s nothing short of scorching, pun intended. I’m actually not going to give you any spoilers because this is a book you need to feel as you read. You need to feel the suspense, the lust, the sex, and the love as it happens. Oh, and the phone sex…OMG that was HOT!
I will tell you one thing, after crying I was happy to find that it has my favorite kind of ending. That’s all I will say. 😉 Don’t miss out on Finnley and Collin’s love story. Heck, just don’t miss out on Collin. He’s definitely my new favorite BBF.
