Review of Desire by Missy Johnson
“Maybe I think you have more to offer than what you think you have. You see yourself as broken…damaged. I see a girl who is strong and has been through so much, but she’s still here. She’s still fighting.”
This is a completely different story line that I am absolutely loving! She’s a sexual lover by trade. Yes it may seem like she’s a whore, but in all reality this just helps blur the lines of her past.
Kait, a woman that was forced to grow up way too fast, and move out of her mom’s house way to young because of a certain someone in there household.
A knock on the door, and her past comes rushing back. Devon is the lead detective on her recently missing mother’s case. Only to be told she is now the unofficial guardian to her younger sister and brother.
Her whole world was about taking care of herself., Now, with the two siblings in the mix and one hunky detective Kait is utterly confused. Especially by her emotions. How can she be a mother to these two siblings when she didn’t have a good childhood?
Will Devon and Kait start a relationship only to watch it fail because of her job, or will they find their happily ever after? How far can the lines be blurred between Devon and Kait?
I absolutely love Desire by Missy Johnson! If she elaborated more on this story it would have had me even more sucked into the book. The ending seemed kind of rushed, but it was an ending that I felt satisfied with. I can’t wait to see what book she comes up with next!
