Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson
“Without trust, we have nothing.”
These are the words which have haunted Melanie Erickson for six years. When she walked out of the house Xavier Ross bought as their forever home, she thought she was closing that door permanently, but fate had other plans.
Xavier Ross tried to keep everyone at a distance until Melanie came into his life. The more he tried to fight his feelings for her, the more he fell in love. One rash decision fractured the trust that was essential to their relationship.
Six years later, she is the last person he expects to see walk through his front door. Will Xavier and Mel be able to learn to trust one another again so they can fulfill a dying womanβs wish?
My Review of Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson
I shake my head, realizing that under her perky exterior, she’s likely thinking of ways to kill me and make it look like an accident. – Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson
Okay, I went a bit highlighting crazy with Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson. There were just way too many great moments and great quotes that I didn’t want to forget. This book is the epitome of an emotional roller coaster. We have Xavier and Melanie. They were a couple six years ago and things didn’t turn out as planned. There were definitely mistakes made at that time, but there were also external forces at work.
I don’t want to give any spoilers away because I loved learning about each of the characters and their dynamics as the book unfolded. That being said, bring your tissues when you lock yourself away to read this book. Xavier has moved on and there is a new love in his life, but that’s where the story gets interesting. Queue the tears. Damn it! Sloan Johnson hits this one out of the park.
Sloan Johnson tackled a subject that most avoid – death – and she did it beautifully. Find out how Xavier and Mel handle this difficult situation and honestly find a way to make life easier for Alyssa and Jacob.
Truth. Honesty. Lies. Deception. Heart breaking loss. True Love. It’s all here. Big ugly tears, yep…she has that too.Β So, go ahead and pick up Fragile Bonds and meet Xavier, Alyssa, Melanie, and Jacob. You won’t regret it. Just make sure you are ready for tears. π Gah! I want to tell you all about this book, but I will settle for telling you to go buy it now.
I’m a big girl. I knew what was going to happen when I walked in your front door. I still have concerns, but I’m tired of pretending. – Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson
