Synopsis

Jackson thought he knew what love was and feels like he missed his chance at happiness. He realizes he wasted his chances by chasing after one-night stands instead of going after what he really wanted.

Kaylie knows what loss feels like and doesn’t want to take a chance on love. She puts up walls to keep her heart protected from experiencing that kind of pain again.

What happens when a guy who refuses to lose out again meets a girl who resists him as much as she can? Will Jackson be able to hit the wall Kaylie has put up and knock it down?

Excerpt

I waited a couple minutes to see if the subject of her latest tirade would storm out and let me catch a little more rest. No such luck. It seemed like their argument was escalating from what I could hear, so I hopped out of bed and stomped next door to bang on the door.

“What the fuck?!” I heard as the door was thrown open. My jaw dropped at the sight of Jackson Silver in Sasha’s room. I hadn’t thought he’d had it in him to care enough about any woman to get into a shouting match with her with the way he blew through all the girls on campus, except maybe his sister and her best friend. Not that I didn’t totally get why so many girls went crazy over him, with his tousled blond hair, wicked blue eyes, and insanely hot body. But he was the epitome of love ‘em and leave ‘em, never spending more than a few nights with the same one.

“Ummmm…” I stuttered in response.

“You don’t want to get in the middle of this, little girl,” he growled at me.

My Review

Looking for your next beach read and the continuance of the wonderful Rochelle Paige’s Blythe College Series? Well, boy you have found your next book!

Jackson thought he was in love with Alexa. So he waited and went out to sew his wild oats, as the men say. What he didn’t realize was that Alexa was going to fall in love with Drake. He knew he lost her before he even had her, but denial is what it is.

When Jackson confronts crazy girl Sasha about her role in trying to break apart Alexa and Drake, Kaylie steps in. After all, a girl can only take so much screaming coming from the paper thin walls of the dorm rooms. She confronts him, and when she does – boy, oh boy do the flames spark between them.

Kaylie is leery of Jackson. He has the reputation as the college man whore of one night wham bam thank you ma’ams…makes a girl wonder why he’d try and pursue her, but pursue he does. They start dating and yes – they both withhold the sex that they both want, but know the relationship part needs to take precedence.

“That’s what I’ve wanted to see all day long. The look on your face as I am bringing you pleasure. I fucking love that I can drive you crazy,” he murmured as he wiped his mouth on his arm. “It’s so hot to watch.”

See, seriously Jackson is swoon worthy, and I love that Kaylie is a force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t always allow him to get what he wants (I know!). That makes Jackson strive to be a better man.

Rochelle Paige does it again with this college romance with a super hunky alpha male with a bit of dominant tendencies. Jackson is absolutely a book boyfriend that we want here at Recommended Romance. Don’t miss this follow up to Push the Envelope and finally learn Jackson’s secret desires. 😉

About the Author

I absolutely adore reading – always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year’s resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me “About time!”
