In Her Sights by Patricia D. Eddy
Away From Keyboard Collection Book 2
Release Date April 17, 2018
One moment.
Two lives.
Their last chance for love.
Inara’s never second-guessed a shot, not until the disaster in Colombia—the disaster that led to Coop’s death.
Drifting, off balance, her emotions out-of-control, she has to pull it together before she’s benched for good.
Royce understands Inara’s pain. A stroke may have broken his body, but a mountain of guilt crushed his soul. He needs to pick up the shattered pieces of his life and rebuild. Luckily, he’s a fighter, but sometimes even the strongest warrior needs help from someone special.
When Inara’s past threatens Royce’s future, she has to take a stand.
Love is a battle, and you must commit to it fully.
Can Inara pull the trigger when it matters?
And if so, can she live with the consequences?

My promise to you in every book
Why do you read?
To escape?
To put aside the mundane day-to-day drudgery?
To forget—just for a little while—about that stressful business meeting, the red wine spilled all over your beige carpet, or the bills that came in the mail?
Unfortunately, reading won’t magically clean your carpet or deposit money in your checking account. But it can carry away to another world long enough for you to catch a break.
That’s why I read. When I dive into the pages of a book, I don’t think about all the other items on my to-do list. But more than that, I’m never lonely when I’m reading. Because when I’m truly immersed in a story, the characters become my friends. I hurt for them. I cheer for them. I keep reading until I know they’re safe or in love.
I feel the same way when I write. I spend hours with my characters. Typically, I write a scene or two right away. But after that, I put the computer down. I get to know the characters. I talk to them, and they talk back.
Take Royce from In Her Sights. He’s a guy I think anyone could be friends with. At least now. Before his surgery? Not so much.
But Royce is the guy you can go have a beer with. He’s the guy you call when your computer isn’t working and you have a major deadline. He’d come over in the middle of the night if you asked. He’s also the guy who’ll give you his jacket if there’s the slightest chance you’re cold. The guy who will always let you have the last cookie in the bag or the last bite of pie off his dessert plate.
He’s damaged. Yes. And that makes him all the more appealing. Because Royce will never judge you. Are you having a bad hair day? Royce will tell you how beautiful you are, even if your hair’s sticking up in all directions. Did you walk out of the house wearing two different shoes? He’ll tell you that you’re starting a new fashion trend.
We’re all damaged. And I think, on some level, we read romance novels because we want to see other damaged people get their happy-ever-after.
That’s my promise to you. Pick up one of my books and you’ll always find deliciously flawed characters find the one person in the world who doesn’t see their flaws. You can escape, just for a little while, with new friends on a journey to find love.
Pick up In Her Sights today. I promise, Royce and Inara can’t wait to meet you.
About the Author
Patricia D. Eddy lives in many worlds. Witches, vampires, and shifters inhabit one of them, military men and women fill another, with sexy Doms and strong subs carving out the final slice of her literary universe. She admits to twelve novels (though there are at least five unfinished drafts on her desk right now), all while working a full-time job, running half-marathons, and catering to the every whim of her three cats.
Despite this whirlwind, she still finds time to binge watch Doctor Who, all of the Netflix Marvel shows, and most recently, The Handmaid’s Tale. Oh, and she hopes to one day be able to say that she plays the guitar. Right now, she mostly tortures the strings until they make noise.
