My Review os Lessons Learned by Sydney Logan
This is the definition of romance. The book follows the journey of Sarah and Lucas as they find each other and find themselves. They are building their relationship, while working together and all the while, they are in the middle of controversy surrounding students.
Lucas is the perfect Book Boyfriend. He is strong, sweet, gentle, comforting, knows just what to do and say at just the right time. Oh, and did I mention the beautiful blue eyes? Oh, yes. Sarah has been through hell, twice, and comes home to the place she grew up.
Lessons Learned is set in a small southern town, growing up in a small town myself I was able to see similarities that we have had to deal with in small town life. Sydney Logan does an excellent job of tackling subject matter like homosexuality and bullying in a small town. These are issues that will stay with you even after you finish reading the book. You watch the community choose sides, while Sarah and Lucas try to find their way together.
This is a beautifully written, well thought out book that has teeth. The words in this book will make you think about how you would live your life in a small town with everyone choosing sides. Lessons Learned is definitely a book that makes you think, while taking you on this wonderful love story of two people meant to be together. There is a Happily Ever After.
