Let Love In by Melissa Collins
Synopsis from Amazon
From the author: For mature audiences only for strong language and sexual situations.
What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?
That’s exactly what happened to Madeleine Becker when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can’t get hurt if she doesn’t fall in love.
That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy’s pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy’s inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.
Together they find out what happens when they Let Love In.
My Review of Let Love In by Melissa Collins
This is a cliffhanger. I’ll warn you now. I honestly didn’t realize that when I borrowed the book. 😉 It’s okay though, because the sequel is already available. I read that, too and will have a review shortly.
Maddy went through so much in her young life, things no 10 year old should have to go through. She doesn’t want to fall in love when she goes off to college with her best friend, but you don’t always have control over your heart.
Reid is a hot bad boy senior in college and is room-mates with the boyfriend of one of Maddy’s friends (did you get that?) 😉 They all go to a party, where Maddy meets the sweaty, sexy, emotionally unavailable Reid. Sparks fly, but Reid does what he always does and walks away.
Maddy and Reid were destined to fall in love, even though they were both scared. Even though they fall in love, there are still issues that need to be talked about. There is a past that needs to be healed and a future that they need to discuss.
To me, this was a true young love, romance story with struggles that you want to see Maddy and Reid overcome and conquer together.
Just when I thought we’d find out what happens, it’s over. There’s a cliffhanger. No worries! I’ve got a review coming soon, but you do not want to miss Let Love Stay, the follow up to Let Love In.
