Behind the Scenes with Andrea Davis Pinkney
Don’t let anybody tell you New York City is a dark, noisy place.
Though my home office is in the middle of inner city Brooklyn, it’s a quiet light-filled cubby that I call my SSS ― my “Secret Sunny Sanctuary.”
I start my day at 4:00 am. Every morning my desk and laptop greet me like open palms. My “SSS” welcomes a new day of writing possibility, made beautiful by the rising light that winks into both windows, encouraging me like a friend.
