My Review of Running from Romeo by Diane Mannino
First off, I really enjoyed the characters in Running from Romeo, even if there were moments I wanted to slap them silly. I think that may be the sign of a good book. 😉 Getting emotionally involved in their situation and what is going to happen. That being said, this is a cliffhanger. This is a rip-your-heart-out and show it to you cliffhanger. As soon as I finished Running from Romeo, I had to start reading Waiting for Romeo just so I could find out what happens.
Emilia is a senior in college and lives with her best friend, Bryn. I liked Bryn’s attitude and I also liked her pushing for Emilia to live a little in her last year of school. There is a ton of drinking in this book. Drinking at home, drinking in bars, and drinking in clubs. I have to say though, that was definitely true to college life.
Logan is the somewhat cocky, totally hot, hotel heir college senior that Emilia has the pleasure of interviewing during one of her school news broadcasts. Let the fun begin.
There are sweet moments in the book, Logan can really be romantic. Some of the book is slow-going for me, but are also parts that need to be in there to move the connection forward. It may seem like a long book at over 500 pages, but some of those pages are back and forth emails between Emilia and Logan. Lots of literary references, so you will be able to brush up on your Shakespeare.
Diane Mannino writes a story of new love, finding your other half, and then losing love. Don’t miss my review of Waiting for Romeo.
