Seduce by Missy Johnson Review

Seduce by Missy Johnson

Note from author: This book contains sexual themes that make it suitable for a mature audience only.

Synopsis from Amazon

Twenty-five year old Jack Falcon doesn’t do relationships, and why would he when he has woman after woman literally throwing themselves at him? For Jack, life is perfect just the way it is. He works hard and he plays harder.

Jack’s life changes when he meets Belle. Unlike any woman he’s ever met, there is something about this girl that makes him unable to keep away, something beyond the youthful beauty and her innocent spirit. Belle is strong and independent, a big leap from the usual brainless chicks he tends to attract.

Jack begins a dangerous game. He is determined to seduce Belle, and without realizing it, his feelings for her develop beyond anything he has ever felt before. Things become complicated when he learns there are good reasons as to why he should stay the hell away from her.

How can you stay away from someone you want to spend every waking minute with? And what do you do when you know eventually you will destroy that person?

As their feelings for each other deepen, Jack struggles with his own internal demons which threaten to rip them apart. Jack is torn between following his heart and listening to his head, which keeps telling him he is not good enough for her. She deserves better than what he can give her.

How far will he push before they both fall over the edge?

My Review of Seduce by Missy Johnson

At first, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to like Jack with everything he was doing to numb his feelings. He was reckless and drunk most of the time, but I stayed with him and found the piece of him that I could fall for.

When he meets Belle, there was an immediate attraction. They fall for each other, but there is something that she was hiding and when it comes out he has to figure out if the consequences are worth the outcome. He takes the risk and I actually fell for Belle and Jack as a couple.

Jack still doesn’t know if he is good enough for Belle or if he’ll ultimately hurt her. There was true torment in his thoughts and actions, until ultimately he makes a mistake and something happens that breaks him. (no spoilers) You will want to see what happens to Jack and how his life changes.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I smiled, I held my breath, I was heartbroken…and this is only the prequel. I will tell you that it is hard to read parts of his journey, but it is well worth the ride.

I cannot wait for Jack’s story to continue in the follow up Beautiful Rose, release date expected to be November 2013. Update: Check out my review of Beautiful Rose. What a great story!
