Synopsis

“The most powerful spark is the one that can reignite the fire that has long gone out.”

After losing his fiancé, Mitchell Taylor abandoned everything that reminded him of her and retreated home to Las Vegas, Nevada. Now his life consists of three things: drowning his pain in the bottom of a vodka bottle, tattooing bodies in the shop he co-owns with his best friend and pissing off their office manager, Shelby. Not only does she infuriate him by challenging everything he does, but fighting with her pushes back the ghosts that haunt him.

Taking control of her future at a young age, Shelby Winston never let anyone or anything get to her. Until now. Mitch is unpredictable. One minute he is drunk and making her want to pull her hair out, the next he is doing something crazy like saving her life.

While every argument between the two has everyone around them waiting for bloodshed, something else is bubbling beneath the surface. There’s no going back once you cross that line, and once the tension erupts into something else, it could change everything forever.

My Review of Solitude

“The right woman will bring out the best parts of us, even when we think they no longer exist.”

Be sure to read Significance (novella) prior to reading Solitude because you’ll get so much more out of this book. It really takes you to where Mitch comes from and what drives him to do the things that he does. Parts of it can be difficult to read, but it truly explains so much.

Solitude is Mitch dealing with the aftermath of what happened in Significance and how it has changed him. He honestly believes he deserves nothing in this world. How can one man overcome such tragedy? Cat Mason did an amazing job portraying Mitch as broken and angry, but with just enough humanity and hope that he can be saved.

Shelby is feisty and stubborn (like the other girls in the Artistic Pricks novels), but has a whole lot of heart. Can she deal with Mitch’s anger and make him see what he’s truly worth? Solitude has a ton of angst, sexy heat, and a lot of heart. A great read, with a well-deserved ending for Mitch.

Solitude is a must read for any Cat Mason fan. Steamy, sexy, and a whole lot of feels.
