(Complete Stand alone, interconnected within The Dark Ones Saga, each book is about a different couple)

To love a Dark One is to invite death…

It is wrong to love her.
It is worse to want her.
It is sin to consume her.
I desire all three.

I’ve been given thirty days to prove my love to another immortal–as a human. Cursed to use nothing but the side of myself I’ve always despised to win her affection. I am Cassius, the King of the immortals, A Dark One.
And today I tasted fear for the first time.
How can I win her when my human emotions over take every ounce of logic I possess?
A darkness is brewing.
One I cannot stop as a human.
One that Stephanie, my loves visions, have shown, will be my end.
Thirty days ago I was King of the immortals.
Today I know fear.
Today I know how I will die.
By her hand.
The woman I love.

My Review of Untouchable Darkness

Cassius is a bad-ass. Rachel Van Dyken hit the nail on the head with this second book in the Dark Ones Saga series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I think the humor found in The Dark Ones (Book 1) spills over into Untouchable Darkness and would be better enjoyed when reading in order.

With both highs and lows, we feel the emotions of both Cassius and Stephanie. We are easily transported into their lives within the pages of this book and I, for one, became completely spellbound with this cast of characters. We still get to see Mason, Ethan, and Genesis in this story. Even though I don’t normally read paranormal stories, Rachel Van Dyken has once again convinced me to try a new genre. Everything that I’ve read from this author is absolutely brilliant and spot-on.

RVD gives us a story that spans between past and present, from Pompeii to modern day, and she does it flawlessly. We see what Cassius has seen, feel what he felt, and mourn with him and his losses. Stephanie is this strong character that I think gives Cassius the perfect balance and I can say that Cassius is believable as this amazing being, while still feeling like someone you know.

Once again, RVD gives us a must-read romance that will keep you turning the pages until the very end. Another great book from RVD.
