My Review of Yesterday’s Half Truths by Carey Heywood
I absolutely adored The Other Side of Someday (Carolina Days Book 1) and was eager to get my hands on Luke’s story. Luke is actually Clay’s best friend from Book 1 and Clay and Courtney make an appearance in Yesterday’s Half Truths by Carey Heywood.
I loved Luke’s character from the beginning, but it took me a bit to warm up to Lindsay’s character. At first I didn’t understand why she was creating a ruse, but once I got further into the book everything slipped into place for me. Luke and Lindsay together make a sweet couple, even before they meet face to face. Luke is so caring, thoughtful and protective. Lindsay just needed to let things go and move forward, but found it incredibly difficult.
Carey Heywood kept me smiling throughout the story, although there were a few heart tugging moments. I loved that Luke was patient throughout the story and I enjoyed watching the relationship bloom naturally and that it felt organic. Carey is an incredible storyteller and her ability to make the reader feel what the characters are feeling is amazing. I think that is what makes a great author, one that can bring you into the story along side of the characters.
If you like a sweet romance with just a little angst, dive into Yesterday’s Half Truths and find out just why I’m still swooning over Luke.
