My Review of Forever Innocent by Deanna Roy
Our baby died on prom night, and nothing was ever the same again.
If that quote doesn’t hook you right at the beginning. Let me tell you it’s not for you. This is a very emotional and deep read.
Corabelle and Gavin are high school sweethearts that happen to get pregnant her Senior year of high school. They have all the help in the community one could ever think of as young adults. Corabelle gives birth to Finn, only to have to bury him seven days later, yes seven. Freaking gut wrenching!
At the funeral Gavin leaves without a goodbye and never returned.
Corabelle decided to try and move on four years later and went to California to finish her degree. Luck would have it that Gavin is in her same class. They finally calm down enough to talk about the past, and try and help heal each other. Yes, this is another cliffhanger, but it was so worth it, especially the big fat crocodile tears.
Crossing the line isn’t about forgetting the people we love. It’s about not letting our past sorrow steal our future joy.
I give it a 4.5 and it is a totally emotional read.
